Awaken Coach Institute’s “MCC in Community”
Participant Enrollment Agreement
Please review this document carefully before signing. It contains important information about the policies of your program. By signing your Participant Enrollment Agreement you are agreeing to the policies upheld by Awaken Coach Institute, as outlined below. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming.
This Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into as of the date signed below, by and between Awaken Coaching, LLC ("Awaken"), a limited liability company organized and existing under the laws of the State of Wyoming, and the undersigned participant ("Participant") of the MCC in Community program ("Program").
WHEREAS, Awaken is co-creating with Participants a 75-hour ICF Level 3 (MCC-level) course titled "MCC in Community" which includes a 5-day intensive retreat and subsequent monthly sessions;
WHEREAS, Participant desires to participate in and contribute to the Program under the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, the parties hereto agree as follows:
- MCC in Community Program Details:
- The pilot Program includes 75 hours of coach training aligned with the ICF’s MCC minimum requirements, including a 5-day intensive retreat in Kenya in November 2024, followed by 10 months of continuing sessions in January - October 2025.
- The 5-day retreat involves 6 hours of training per day, totaling 30 hours.
- Follow-on sessions include three 90-minute meetings per month over 10 months, totaling 45 hours.
- Responsibilities of Awaken:
- Provide guidance related to the ICF’s Level 3 course requirements
- Provide a structured, fun, mutually supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Ensure MCC training standards are communicated, met, and upheld.
- Provide opportunities for each participant to grow, stretch, and receive training and support in community.
- Awaken’s Director of Coaching Education shall submit the training materials, recordings, policy statements, and other documentation necessary for accreditation according to the International Coaching Federation’s Level 3 requirements.
- Awaken shall provide a structure for course creation, select accommodation for the kick-off retreat, provide a zoom room throughout the year for our meetings, and offer 10 hours of MCC mentor coaching (including three 1:1 hours) to the Participants and 10 hours of peer supervision.
- Participation and payment of tuition does not guarantee passing certification. Awaken awards a Level 3 certificate when the Participant demonstrates standards as outlined in the graduation requirements, as required by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
- Responsibilities of the Participant:
- Participant must arrange and pay for their own travel, insurance, visas, and accommodation for our kick-off retreat.
- Participants must complete 75 hours of coach training during the program, bringing their best self to the work and their full presence.
- Missed classes: All missed classes must be made up within the time frame of your program by watching the video recording and writing a brief summary of key insights to receive credit.
- Participants must actively engage in co-facilitation, sharing insights and knowledge from their lived experiences as coaches and contribute at least 4.5 hours of course training that meets criteria according the the ICF’s MCC minimum skills requirements (three at the kick-off retreat, and 1.5 later in the program).
- Participants shall contribute a $600 fee for three one-on-one MCC mentor coaching sessions with Ghaya Barwani, MCC, or Christi Byerly, MCC, or another qualified MCC coach, to be completed by October 30, 2025. No refunds will be provided.
- Participants will submit 2 recorded coaching sessions between 30 and 60 minutes, with their respective time-stamped transcript, following the guidelines of the ICF regarding final performance assessments.
- Participants in the pilot program who attain their MCC will have the opportunity to facilitate the full course to future participants on a profit-sharing basis, to be determined separately.
- Participants will make known in writing any potential conflicts of interest with any other coach training providers.
- Awaken’s Grievance Policy:
- Unethical and disrespectful behavior, including defamation, is not tolerated, either during or outside of class. Awaken has the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or cancel your enrollment in a program at any time, should you demonstrate unethical (breaching the Code of Ethics as set forth by the International Coaching Federation) or demonstrate disrespectful behavior to an instructor, coach or fellow classmate(s), without a refund, if the refund deadline has passed.
- Awaken seeks to ensure equitable treatment of every person in our community. We encourage feedback and upgrades throughout every stage of our course, and we solve any grievances in a timely and fair manner. Participants are in regular communication with faculty via WhatsApp, email, and other methods, and Awaken Coach Institute regularly invites feedback and suggestions for improvement throughout the course, both verbally and by requesting the completion of surveys.
- Participants have the right to express their experiences regarding presentation or content, facility concerns, and faculty behavior. All grievances will be addressed to the best of our ability to improve our course and to delight the participants. A process for filing grievances can be found below:
Step 1: A participant shall first address their discomfort directly with the person with whom they have an issue. If participants are not comfortable approaching the individual, they can proceed to step 2.
Step 2: If participants are unable or unwilling to resolve the issue directly, participants are welcome to send an email to the Director of Training at any time. The Director of Training will review the issue and talk to the participant within one week of receiving the complaint, working with all parties involved to resolve the issue, and will request written confirmation from the participant that the issue has been resolved.
- Copyright and Intellectual Property:
- All content developed during the program, such as text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, video clips, and other training materials, is the property of Awaken and is protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws. In addition, content that the Participant personally contributes to the Awaken program remains their property, which they may use freely.
- Use of Materials: All training materials are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Participants may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products, or services obtained from these materials without the prior written consent of Awaken.
- Trademarks: All trademarks, service marks, and trade names used in the materials are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Awaken's trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not provided by Awaken, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among customers, or in any manner that disparages or discredits Awaken.
- Disclaimer of Warranties: The materials are provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties of any kind. Awaken does not warrant that the materials will be error-free or that defects will be corrected. In no event shall Awaken be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the materials.
- Recorded Classes: Awaken may record our online classes. We wish to respect privacy and also need to use our trainings for multiple purposes, such as but not limited to, train-the-trainer, prospective student review, accreditation surveys, and online classes. Participants have the right to make a written request that any recording they participated in not be used for purposes other than accreditation audits.
- Material and Content Warning: We are committed to providing quality materials through web-based formats. While we select formats and companies to deliver these services that are reputable and reliable, we cannot guarantee that any materials, or services will be glitch-free, or virus-free. All use of our online services is at your own risk.
- Limitation of Liabilities:
- Results: Awaken is committed to teaching, mentoring, and developing each participant according to their goals. Awaken cannot guarantee that any particular tool will work for any Participant. Participants are responsible for their results and implementing the tools, techniques, and models presented as they see fit for their clients. The tools, techniques, and models taught are not a substitute for the Participant’s discretion, independent judgments, and life experience.
- By signing this agreement, the Participant agrees to hold harmless, release, and discharge Awaken and Awaken’s owners, agents, employees, personnel, sponsors, officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, assigns, members, affiliated organizations, insurers, and others acting on their behalf (collectively referred to as “Associates”) from any claims, injuries, liabilities, damages, demands or causes of action, whatsoever, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, to themselves and their property, whether arising out of or connected with Awaken’s and/or their Associates’ negligent acts or omission or otherwise, except that which is the result of gross negligence or intentional, willful, or wanton conduct by Awaken or their Associates. Participant further agrees that, except in the event of Awaken’s and/or their Associates’ gross negligence or intentional, willful or wanton acts, Participant shall not bring any claims, demands, legal actions, or causes of action, against Awaken and/or their Associates for any economic and/or non-economic losses due to bodily injury, death, theft, or property damage sustained by the Participant.
- Termination:
- Either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice if the other party breaches any material term or condition and fails to remedy such breach within 30 days of notice.
- Upon termination, all obligations of the parties shall cease. Limitation of liabilities remains in effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the dates written below.
